That old, dependable funding model isn't cutting it anymore. We’ve entered a new era of uncertainty and instability.
But here’s the thing: we don’t do this work because there is funding—we do it because it’s right. And while this global shift has been disruptive, it has only reaffirmed my belief that our social enterprise model is the most viable path forward. I believed it then, and I believe it even more now.
That’s why we established BASEflow Services, BASEflow Products, and BASEflow Construction—three social enterprises designed to support our mission and ensure the long-term financial sustainability of our non-profit work. These businesses help cover operational costs and give us the freedom to pursue bold solutions that some might find too risky to support.
We know some may worry that “going into business” could distract us from our mission. But trust us, we remain community-driven, grounded in data, and focused on sustainable impact. Every penny we earn helps us do more of what matters.
The world still needs non-profits. But we must evolve—without compromising our values. Strengthening our social enterprisemodel is how we continue to show up for the communities that count on us, now and into the future.
